What are we learning in Fourth Grade?

Students in fourth grade music have been reinforcing concepts from last year.  The musicians are continuing to build their song and folk dance repertoire.

We have reviewed quarter note, paired eighth notes and the quarter rest.

Students in fourth grade learned about Jerome Kern and his influence on music for the stage and screen.  We had a classroom and school visit from the Austin Jazz Workshop.  Students participated in improvisation and listening activities.

Several classics in fourth grade include Tideo, Turn the Glasses Over, Oliver Twist, Knock the Cymbals, and I'm Gonna Dance All Day.
