Reilly musicians were treated to a fabulous visit and concert from members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra a couple of weeks ago. Students in pre-k through third grade gathered in the gym for a presentation by members of the brass family.
The Building Blocks program is specifically designed for young learners, offering them an engaging experience of the sights and sounds of the orchestra. This year, the brass section was featured and included the piccolo trumpet, trumpet, french horn, trombone and tuba. Students heard several pieces, including works by Vivaldi and Mozart. The kids were impressed by the playing and were even entertained by the comedy used throughout the program.
