We Celebrated Cinco de Mayo!

On Thursday, May 5, 2011, students in PK and Kinder participated in the annual program to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!  Pre-kinder students danced to Sap, Sap, Sapo!  The audience was in for a treat as they watched all of the students adorned with their frog hats.  Kinder students danced to La Raspa in elaborate costumes!  Their moves were rehearsed and well exectued.  A special thanks to the Pre-kinder and Kinder teams for their work in preparing the students.

The festive evening was brought to a close with a choral and instrumental performance by a music ensemble featuring students in grades three, four and five.  Students were dressed in festive costumes and sang De Colores, Cha-Cha Chihuahua, and Dos Canciónitas.

I was so impressed with their expressive singing and am looking forward to featuring this group again next year!  This is such a festive event and it is so nice to bring the community together.  I would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Ruiz for help coordinating the program and to Mrs. Bell for all of her help with decorating!
