Another Month - Another Chat with the ASO!

As you know, fourth grade musicians have been selected to participate in this year's Chat with the Austin Symphony Orchestra.  The project is made possible by generous donations and support from Dell and the Austin Symphony Orchestra.
Our third chat was held last week in our music classroom.  Students brainstormed questions to ask Jennifer Bourianoff, violinist for the ASO. Students chatted with her and heard her play several new and familiar tunes on the violin.

We were inspired by Jennifer's responses and were impressed by her playing of the violin.  We were treated to a private concert with a great musician!  We are looking forward to chatting with another member of the ASO later this month!

Here is a sample of some of our insightful questions:
  • Was the violin the first instrument you learned to play?
  • Do you prefer to practice during the day or at night?
  • I notice you play the very quickly.  Why is this?
  • Do you ever compose your own music?
  • Does your chin or fingers hurt when you play?
  • How does playing the violin make you feel?
