Fourth and Fifth Grade Musicians Are Playing with the Austin Symphony!

Every year fourth and fifth grade musicians look forward to attending the Young People's Concert presented by the Austin Symphony Orchestra.  The concert incorporates technology, allowing students an "up-close and personal" look at the orchestra.  Using four video cameras and a very large projection screen, students are able to "see what they hear" in real-time.

The ASO has collaborated with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute's "Link Up" program for the 2011-2012 season.  This Spring, fourth and fifth graders at Reilly will make their musical debut with the Austin Symphony Orchestra.  We will be singing and playing our recorders from our seats along with the professional musicians performing on stage.

Each students received a workbook with information, exercises, and the music that we will be playing and singing.  There are already several favorite pieces among classes.  We are so excited to be a part of this engaging and interactive concert experience!
